Paloma has unveiled its best paper line yet — stronger than ever, yet exceptionally gentle. We illustrated this literally through two contrasting characters: the powerful Sumisan and a white, fluffy cat, together conveying the campaign message: “So Strong, Yet So Gentle.”
In the campaign, two characters meet who couldn’t be more different: Sumisan, a symbol of strength, and a white, fluffy cat who would rather spend the day cuddled up in Paloma towels. Through their presence, Paloma conveys that its products now combine opposites — incredibly strong yet soft to the touch. All of this is tied together with a simple but powerful slogan: “So Strong, Yet So Gentle.”
The video campaign and its key elements were created in collaboration with Bright Visuals, supported by artificial intelligence elements. This resulted in the main campaign video, as well as two playful product spots.
Japanese motifs inspired not only the main character, Sumisan, but also the redesigned packaging, which subtly nods to Eastern aesthetics through its graphic details. In the same spirit, we created a promotional contest: with the purchase of Paloma products, customers can enter for a chance to win a trip to one of the Asian countries.
Sumisan and the cat stand out in stores across Slovenia. Featured on packaging and POS materials, they invite customers to experience the new generation of Paloma products.
The campaign demonstrated that even a functional message can captivate when delivered through strong, visually striking, and playful storytelling.
